A Different Philosophy of Care
The philosophy behind the care you receive at Vitality Project is what sets me apart from other naturopaths. This philosophy is called German Biological Medicine, and although there are a few Medical Doctors and Dentists in the area who are trained and certified, I’m the only Naturopath who is. Here’s how it works:
What Is German Biological Medicine
German Biological Medicine combines the philosophies of:
- Homeopathy, known as Homotoxicology
- Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Dentistry
These are brought together into a unique Holistic System of diagnosis and treatment.
To become certified, one must complete a 2-year training in both theory and clinical, which means hands-on practical application. I completed this training in 1996, so I’ve been practicing this way for 30 years! Of course, this is on top of my training as a Nutritionist and Traditional Naturopath.
Your Care Begins With a Deep Health History
The first step in your care at Vitality Project is taking your history in a detail that I’m sure you’ve never experienced before.
Interestingly, stresses and insults that happened years or even decades ago can be the key to opening the door to your healing. Your history is the story of what worked together over time to bring you to your current condition.
Without this understanding, some people struggle to get good results from holistic or Functional Medicine practitioners. When they come to see me, I often discover the missing link(s) that open the door to their healing.
Examples of insults that can still affect one years later include:
- An auto accident
- A viral infection
- Prescription medications
- Food poisoning
- An extended period of stress
Most people have a few such insults, which weakened them in some way that wasn’t obvious at the time. But as the years went on, their body began to struggle to compensate and health issues began.
Testing and Next Steps
Once I take this detailed history, the next steps depend on whether you come in person to my office in Roswell, Ga (Metro-Atlanta) or need to work remotely.
In either case, I will look at blood tests or other testing you have had. Sometimes those tests are not complete, such as when thyroid function is evaluated using only basic tests.
Unfortunately, your medical doctor’s hands are tied by what an insurance company will approve, regardless of what you truly need. But don’t worry. I can let you know what is missing, and we can help you order your own tests online if needed.
If you are able to come in person, there are a few in-office tests added as well.
Personalized Treatment Plans
Each client gets a unique treatment plan and custom blended homeopathic remedies. There may be a few supplements recommended, but German Biological Medicine focuses on identifying and treating the most important foundational issues first.
The goal is to:
- Understand how challenges in your body relate to each other
- Address a small number of fundamental issues
- This allows other issues to resolve as a result
This means you do not need a different product for every concern. You won’t leave with a bag full of supplements costing hundreds of dollars or take handfuls of pills each day. This approach saves time and money while producing strong results.
Discovery Consultation
A discovery consultation allows me to share my thoughts on your situation and outline what care may look like.
During this consultation:
- We meet for up to 30 minutes
- I listen to what is going on and ask clarifying questions
- I explain what I believe it will take to help you feel better
- You can ask any questions you may have
This time helps us decide if we are a good fit. It is well worth the $50 fee and 30-minute time investment. This appointment can be in person at the office, via Zoom or on the phone.
